ASSEMBLY & SELECTION GUIDE

KS-BC-82-3PD550 is a 3-pin battery connector with a recorded 2.5 mm pitch and 5.5 mm plastic housing height. KS-BC-82-4PD300 has 4 pins, the same recorded pitch and a 3 mm plastic housing height. Both are listed with locating posts. For a sourcing comparison, establish the required contact count first, then check the drawing and mounting geometry for that exact part number.
Put the interface requirement ahead of the height preference
A buyer searching for a 3-pin or 4-pin, 2.5 mm-pitch spring battery connector needs two different sets of information: the connector's published geometry and the project's interface definition. Keep them in separate columns in the comparison record.
- KS-BC-82-3PD550: 3 pins; 2.5 mm pitch; 5.5 mm plastic housing height; top-press classification in the product catalogue; locating posts.
- KS-BC-82-4PD300: 4 pins; 2.5 mm pitch; 3 mm plastic housing height; top-press classification in the product catalogue; locating posts.
The project interface record should identify the function and position of every contact, the viewing direction and the mating contact surface. A fourth contact's function comes from that interface definition. It is not assigned by the appearance of the connector.

Build a separate document set for each candidate
The registered documents are:
- 3PD550: BC-82-3PD550-康生图纸.pdf and 3D_BC-82-3PD550.stp.
- 4PD300: BC-82-4PD300-康生图纸.pdf and 3D_BC-82-4PD300.STEP.
The MODEL fields in the drawing copies reviewed for this guide identify BC-82-3PD550 and BC-82-4PD300 respectively. Start with that field, then locate the views and dimension arrows relevant to the mounting interface, contacts and locating structure. Keep the full sheet with the model field when sharing a dimension detail.

The REV fields on these archived drawing copies are blank. Retain the original filenames, model fields and date obtained; request the currently applicable document with the supplier's reply. Do not create a revision identifier from a download date.
Record mounting datums and contact positions explicitly
In the assembly record, identify the connector mounting datum, the mating contact positions relative to that datum, and the available space around the selected part. Map each required dimension to its drawing view and arrow endpoints. This gives the supplier a specific location to answer rather than a general request for a "higher" or "lower" connector.
The housing-height difference is 2.5 mm, while the recorded pitch is also 2.5 mm. These are different dimensions and need separate entries. Housing height, contact free position, operating position and allowed movement likewise belong in distinct entries. An operating travel or contact-force value cannot be calculated from the two housing heights.
Use the corresponding STP/STEP file to examine the selected part's geometry in the assembly, and the PDF for marked dimensions. Preserve the exact part number in both the document folder and the purchasing line item. An assembly model is a geometry aid; any physical sample checks should be recorded against the project's own verification plan.
Keep the no-post photo references clearly identified
The following archived photographs are associated in the source records with BC-82-3P550 and BC-82-4P300, the same-series versions without the D suffix or locating posts. They illustrate those no-post versions. They are not photographs identifying the two D parts compared above.

For sample identification, keep the physical sample label, complete part number and corresponding document set together. Retain the association between an archived image and its source record when the photograph does not show a full part-number label.
Send an RFQ the supplier can answer by line item
Include the complete candidate part number, contact count and pin-function diagram; an assembly sketch with the mounting datum, contact direction and numbered dimensions; and the requested PDF plus 3D file. Separate sample quantity, initial order quantity and expected later demand.
The catalogue records packaging as 500 per reel for 3PD550 and 1,000 per reel for 4PD300. State packaging, minimum order conditions and lead time as separate quote-response items. A reel quantity is not itself a commitment about order minimums, stock or delivery.
Add the project's electrical load, peak duration, environment and planned verification requirements where relevant. Those are project inputs for the quotation and specification discussion; this drawing comparison supplies no measured current, force or life results.
